Poly Outdoor Furniture Care and Cleaning
General Tips
Poly outdoor furniture is durable and easy to maintain. Follow these general tips to keep your furniture looking its best:
- Regularly wipe down the furniture with a mild cleanser such as Dawn dish soap and water solution or our Eco Friendly Poly Brite Formula.
- Avoid using abrasive cleaners or chemicals that may damage the surface.
- To remove surface dust, hose the furniture with cold, clear water.
- You can use a soft bristled brush to clean the difficult to clean areas - such as the embossed grain onf the Premium Poly.
Cleaning Instructions
To clean your poly outdoor furniture:
- Remove any loose debris or dirt using a soft brush or cloth.
- Mix a mild soap with warm water or our Eco Friendly Poly Brite.
- Using a sponge or soft cloth, gently scrub the furniture with the soapy water solution.
- Rinse the furniture thoroughly with clean water to remove any soap residue.
- A pressure washer can alos be used on the lightest setting to deep clean your furniture.
- Pressure should be set at no more than 1,500 PSI
- Keep the Tip of the pressure washer at least 10 to 12 inches away from the furniture to keep from damaging the furniture.
- Allow the furniture to air dry completely before using it.

Stain | Recommended Cleaning Process |
Pencil Marks | Use a Solution of mild dish soap and water to saturate the stain, then rinse with water |
Ink/Marker | Use a Solution of mild dish soap and water to saturate the stain, then rinse with water. For tough stains, pretreat area with WD-40, wiping clean before using a solution of water and Dawn Dish Soap |
Grease or Oil Stain | Use a Solution of mild dish soap and water to saturate the stain, then rinse with water |
Embedded Dirt | Use a Solution of mild dish soap and water to saturate the area, then scrub with a soft bristled brush, and rinse with water |
Wine | Use a Solution of mild dish soap and water to saturate the area, then scrub with a soft bristled brush, and rinse with water |
Chewing Gum | Coat WD-40 lubricant or equivelant over the area. Gently pry up on any potentially hard articles slowly with a plastic putty knife. Utilize a soft brush & acetone solvent to remove any fine debris and clean out any crevasses. Rinse area with fresh water. |
Bird Droppings | Use a solution of mild dish soap to saturate the area, then scrub with a soft bristled brush, and rinse with water |
Stains and Scuffs | A Magic EraserTM may be used for stubborn marks |
Iron and Rust | For tough stains from contact with iron, boards can be scrubbed with Iron OutTM |
It is always best to test the cleaner on a small inconspicuous area of the lumber to make sure it does not harm your product. |
Maintenance

- Inspect the furniture regularly for any signs of damage or wear.
